Nostalgia: Songs/Canciones— Some songs carry more than melody. They carry a place, a voice, a familiar room, nostalgia. They carry the people we’ve loved and the lives we once knew.For this special evening, NATALIE FORTEZA returns to The Howland Center, stepping outside the repertoire of her usual performances and opens the door to something more personal—a nostalgic collection of songs (canciones) woven through memory, family, and heritage.The set will highlight a romantic set of songs that reach back to her familia (family), to the sounds and stories of her Latin American upbringing, and to the people and memories that remain with her through music. Natalie will be performing some songs sung in Spanish, and songs arranged in Latin/Latin-Jazz influenced styles, joined by The Dan Garcia Trio: featuring Dan Garcia on Spanish guitar, Nate Allen on bass and Dave Previ on drums.
